It Started with a Mat on a Dusty Road.
The story of Sky Design Bali began long before the age of digital nomads and beach clubs. In 1992, on the dusty, vibrant streets of Seminyak, our founder Fachri Azhar set up a humble display right in front of the legendary Warung Made.
At that time, Seminyak was just beginning to whisper its secrets to the world. Travelers gathered at Warung Made for stories and food, and it was there that Fachri first introduced his vision of Balinese craftsmanship. There were no websites, no social media, just a smile, a handshake, and products that spoke for themselves.
A Staple of the Bali Street Scene.
What started as a small stall grew into a legacy. Through the decades, as Bali transformed, so did we. We expanded our footprint to Double Six Street and Legian, becoming a landmark for repeat visitors.
For over 30 years, we have weathered economic shifts and changing trends, standing tall as a pillar of the local retail community. If you have walked the streets of Legian in the last three decades, chances are you’ve walked past our colorful displays.
The Art of "Latansa": Zero Waste, Infinite Soul.
Our corporate name, Sky Latansa Collective, carries a deep meaning. Latansa means "Do Not Forget." We never forget our roots, and we never forget the value of the materials we use.
We believe that beauty lies in what others might overlook. Our signature Patchwork Technique is born from a Zero Waste philosophy. We collect premium Batik and Tenun fabric remnants materials that are too small for large garments but too beautiful to throw away and meticulously stitch them together.
This process means that no two items are ever exactly alike. When you buy a bag or a turtle from us, you own a unique mosaic of Indonesian textile history.
Thank you for being part of our story for the last 30 years, and here is to the next 30.
